While communities worldwide are facing unprecedented challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, What If Media Group knew we had the responsibility to help. Fortunately, there is no shortage of people and organizations who want to help fight this pandemic and the outpouring of global support has been inspiring.

1.8 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. The World Water Crisis is a catastrophe, but WaterIsLife is on a mission to solve it. After learning more about this incredible organization, What If Media Group made a donation toward the installation of a water filtration unit, which will provide clean water to 500 families for a minimum of 10 years. In addition to the monetary donation, five employees traveled to a remote town in Puerto Rico – an area hit hard by the hurricane in 2017 – to install the filtration unit.

While the world navigates through the challenges and uncertainties brought forth by the COVID-19 pandemic, What If Media Group remains committed to assisting those affected by the disease. It’s been a tough few months and we are all yearning to get back some sense of normalcy. Here are a few of the charities we have donated over the past couple of months.

The current bushfire crisis in Australia continues to have devastating effects across the entire country and has captured the world’s attention. Along with the rest of the global community, What if Media Group feels the sense of urgency to help those affected by this tragedy. This is why we’ve made a donation to The Victorian Bushfire Appeal where 100% of the funds will go directly to the communities that have been impacted. 

Two mass shootings over the weekend has once again left the What If family heartbroken and with the urge to help. The first shooting occurred Saturday morning at a busy Walmart in El Paso, Texas. The second shooting happened just 13 hours later in Dayton, Ohio. We have chosen two of the established victims funds to donate to on behalf of our company: El Paso Victims Relief Fund and The Dayton Foundation.

The Fisher House Foundation provides free homes, built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers, that allow family members to be close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. We wanted to kick off the new year by supporting an incredible organization that’s making a difference globally: Doctors Without Borders. Their mission is to help people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from health care. Our hearts are broken as we watch three more major wildfires engulf the state of California. In effort to do our part on behalf of our friends and business associates affected by this devastation, What If made a contribution to The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a comfortable place to stay for families with hospitalized children under 21 years of age who are being treated at nearby hospitals and medical facilities. That’s why we chose them for this month’s What Gives!

Wishes help kids feel better – and sometimes when they feel better, they get better. That’s why WIMG chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants kids with life-threatening medical conditions the opportunity to experience their one true wish, as our next What GIves? recipient.

At What If, many of the employees have been impacted by the Holocaust in a variety of ways. It was important to the team to make this meaningful contribution towards peace and unity during a time of divisiveness in our country. 

Working around the clock, the American Red Cross is making good use of donations and bringing help where it is needed the most.
